Manali was always in my radar for I had heard so much about the place and so when I recently got an opportunity to visit the place, I gave no second thoughts and started preparing for the trip. I was going with my friends who were my colleagues in the office. The trip was sponsored by the office for our team had won the best performing team of the year award.

1. Hadimba Temple
This temple is built in Pagoda style and dedicated to Hadimba – Wife of Bhima – Son of Pandu. Nestled amidst Dungri forest, the picturesque view of the temple is simply breathtaking. Well, it is not just architectural wonder that attracts visitor but people throng the premises for seeking blessings from Hadimba – its’ effigy is carved out of brass and looks beautiful. 2. Tibetan Monasteries
Well, there is a good number of Tibetan community based in and around Manali, in fact, the whole Himachal Pradesh. Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa and Gadhan Thekchhoking Gompa are two Buddhist monasteries worth visit when in Manali. You can meditate or can just be awestruck at the architecture of these monasteries. Do not miss on the chance to look at the flea market nearby displaying and selling Tibetan art and craft. You might have to bargain a bit to get the best prices.
When can you visit : the monastery is open for the entire day however, the shrine opens only from 7 AM to 7 PM.
3. Manu Temple
If you are looking for some tranquillity, head to Manu Temple, which is 3 KM from the Mall Road. It is best to take a trek from Mall road to the temple as the scenic beauty is worth appreciating and is a visual treat to eyes.

4. Vashisht Hot Water Springs
Well, if your body needs some rejuvenation after trekking and going so many places, there is nothing better than coming to Vashisht Hot Water Springs for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. It is dedicated to Sage Vashisht and it’s believed that teh water spring possesses some medicinal properties and cures skin infections.
When can you visit : throughout the year, 7AM -1PM, 2PM – 10PM
5. Maa Sharvari Temple
The temple is located on the outskirts of the city and the best way to reach there is trekking during which you enjoy picturesque views of the mountains and the valley. The temple houses the idol of Kullu Kings’ Kuldevi and during Dushhera festival, the idol of the deity is beautifully decorated and taken to Raghunath temple for offering prayers by the kings’ family.
When can you visit : 5AM – 12 PM, 4PM-9PM, any time of the year
6. Jogini Falls
For the nature lovers, Jogini falls is no less than a heavenly abode. The water gushing down the mountain makes for a beautiful sound with birds chirping in the background making it a perfect getaway far from the maddening crowds. 7. Solang Valley
Solang valley is a paradise for the adventure lovers for there are so many things to explore, at a distance of around 14Km from Manali, here you can enjoy various adventure sports like skiing, snorkelling, zorbing etc. if you are lucky enough, you can enjoy the annual winter skiing festival.

8. Kothi
The artist within you will come alive when you visit Kothi village situated 16KM from Manali. The rustic charm is a haven for painters, poets who can be seen taking inspiration from the Mother Nature and simple village life. You can even enjoy some adventure sports activities like paragliding etc.

9. Gulaba
If you are going in the months of December to May when Rohtang Pass is inaccessible, head for Gulaba. You can have the same experience in Gulaba as you have in Rohtang Pass. Our trip was not simply awesome but refreshed our body, mind and souls too.
